first off, i HATE those stupid crappy trendy names with y's where they shouldn't be. this kid is getting the BORINGEST name possible.
it's a girl, fyi

jane victoria (would be called janie throughout her childhood)
lynne caroline
lorelai (or lorelei, which ever is the more normal spelling) caroline

ok so the POINT is that i want her to not have to explain her name and turn a fiery red when no one can say her name and everyone snickers and calls her the mis pronounciation like i did. with jane, lynne and lorelai/lei you cannot have that!
and they are nice, dignified names.

I definitely like Jane Victoria the best. Very classy, and Jane is such a cute name.
Lorelai/Lorelei may get mispronounced as Lorelee or Lorelay, so be careful with that.
All the best!

I think Victoria Jane sounds better. You could still call her Janie. Lynne Caroline is very old sounding. And I'm not sure how to pronounce Lorelai...

Anyhow, you complained that you dont like trendy names. But, what is trend now will become classic as the child ages. Just think, the name Ashley was super trendy during the 80s. But, now its becoming more and more classic. So, I would try to think more inside of the box and not so far out and find a name that is both suitable to the times and pretty.

Hooray! Someone has picked normal names for their child! How refreshing. I love Jane Victoria, that is classic and beautiful. My middle name is Jane!
I don't like Lynne much as it is very common amongst the 50-60 year old age group. Caroline is pretty though, so how about Caroline Elizabeth?
Sorry I don't like Lorelei, I wouldn't want to be called that. Laura or Lauren is much prettier.

How could anyone be serious about using the name Shiloh Paramour???!!!!!

All you have to do is first picture yourself five years old standing in front of a classroom and say this outloud so you can hear yourself, "Hi my name is Jane Victoria *last name* or Hi my name is Lynne Caroline" etc. Then you can tell whether that name sounds fitting or not. It's a simple way to find out if you're choosing your child's name or if a writer is choosing a character name to fit their supposed personality.

Jane Victoria-that doesn't work in my mind, and I don't care for Janie
Lynne Caroline-Lynne is just a middle name in my book
Caroline-fine a little boring though
Lorelai-Lorelei-OK, just not my favorite

I think Lorelai Victoria would be a very distinguished name. Jane would be my second choice and Lynne a very distant third.

I know what you mean about weird names and spellings. I hate them too. My children are named Eliza Jasmine and Isaac Matthew!

Best of luck to you

I like the name Lorelai, but Caroline doesn't really work after it..although I do like Jane Victoria, too...and calling her Janie is a cute nickname, but aren't nicknames supposed to generally be shorter than the real name? lol. oh well, I still like it.
