Not if it's expensive..
But if I find it for say, $2 in one of the baran bins then maybe.. if it catches my eye.
Also, if I'm planning to buy a CD from a band that has more than one, I would probably buy the one with the most attractive cover first, if they are the same price.

I do sometimes buy music based on the cd cover. I found the Pale Saints that way. I love their album In Ribbons and I discovered it randomly and was pulled in by the cover. Sometimes I do this when there are bargain bins and stuff. I don't typically pay full price for a cd just because of the cover. There were times when certain genres of music had a "type" of cover. That was how I decided usually. The covers would sometimes strike me and I'd intuitively choose that cd.

No because I will never again buy a CD without liking at least 3 or 4 songs. Last time I did that it was a complete and horrible mistake. So I rather save my money for better music rather than cool album art.

No. I only buy Cd's that I like the music to. If I dislike the music but like the cover I would consider it a waste of my money.

No, I usally buy a CD if I like the music on it, not by it's cover. I don't buy a lot of CDs anyway. When there are MP3s around, who needs them?

I did so with LP's back in the early days and found some pretty cool stuff that way although I found alot of crap too! Nowadays I consider a cool cover as an added bonus to the music within.

Well, most of the music in my collection is there just because I like it, and I view a good album cover as a bonus.
There are several albums I have where I particularly like the art / image, such as various Jethro Tull ones.
I *did* actually discover one of my absolute favourite bands ~ Blackmore's Night ~ because 2 of their covers were drawn by the artist Johanna Pieterman, who I am a fan of.

This is one album I don't have {too expensive}, but I *really* like the cover :~

So I've saved the image to a folder, and I'll print it off to laminate and put up on my wall :)
Fonzie T {for one} will know what I mean when I say that LP sleeves were often regarded as 'art' in their own right!

i buy Cd's that i know the name of the band and at least one song but if i went to buy a CD for the heck of it and it didn't have to be something i knew then it'd have to have a unique name and cover you know something eye catching

Not really. I take a few listens online before I buy it. I could care less what the cover looks like.
