No one is going to take our guns. Abortion is legal and may never change. Why rant about it like your opinion will change it?

Non-issues. As in they are not an issue. Neither party is going to mess with either one. Did Bush make abortion illegal? Has anyone knocked on your door and asked for your guns?

This is how it works. Joe Blow politician wants the cushiest job in the world. To get that job he needs gobs of money for advertising. So he goes to a few dozen special interest and they give him millions of dollars but they also give him a list of things he can or can't support. He goes home and looks at the list and cries in disappointment. All the things he can support would tick off any rational voter and the ones he can't are exactly what people are screaming for. He racks his brains for something to claim he believes in. All that is left is non-issues. things that no one in government actually has the power to change like supreme court rulings and constitutional amendments. So he goes out and screams to anyone who will listen that he is going to change all of those things. Its safe because he can't actually affect them but he can claim to those who elected him later that he tried but was shot down by other evil politicians. If he's a republican he can say the democrats ham stringed his reform. If hes a democrat he can say the president vetoed his efforts, if hes president he can say congress wouldn't cooperate. He is sure that the voters are too stupid to check. Thats how we get these non-issues in every election.

The argument has never been that worldwide places want their squaddies to die. worldwide places do those issues because of the fact: a million. because of the fact they're civilized and humane. 2. Helmets and Flak Jackets can keep away from wounds all together or minimizing wounds. 3. squaddies would be even much less keen to combat in the event that they understand that their comrades will basically enable them to bleed out. 4. All those issues you indexed have been component of armies long until now the 5.fifty six reared that is gruesome head. i do no longer think of all people has mentioned that worldwide places want their squaddies to die. I additionally do no longer think of all people has mentioned that the 5.fifty six exchange into especially designed to wound or that a wounded soldier is favourite over a dull one. that is all approximately pondering all the commerce-offs. somewhat of evaluating a .357 magazine and a .223 at factor clean selection, you may desire to be evaluating a .308 and a 5.fifty six at 3 hundred yards. The argument is that a .308 has a greater robust possibility of a kill at 3 hundred yards (it has 2.5x the capability of the 5.fifty six), fantastically penetrating physique armor. The argument is that given the different commerce offs considered (weight, quantity of hearth, accuracy in burst mode, etc.), that is advantageous if the guy is basically wounded by potential of the 1st around, because of the fact that is observed up by potential of a minimum of a pair greater in close proximity. And if he remains in user-friendly terms wounded, he's out of the combat and the civilized u . s . a . he fights for will ought to apply up all those factors you indexed to look after him. At 3 hundred yards the 5.56x45 particularly has slightly greater capability than a 7.62x39 (the two around ~six hundred feet-lbs) in user-friendly terms slightly greater desirable than a .357 magazine on the muzzle. So sure i could have faith that dude's vest stopped the AK around. that is occasion of ways physique armor could make a distinction between lifeless and minor wounds.

Don't know, why do you think abortion and gun control are non issues. They are very important issues and to say that they are not is well, quite frankly idiotic. Now opinions may not change in these two particular matters, but they are still very much political issues. Just try to put another conservative on the supreme court and see how the pro-choicers come out in force. Why is Rosie O'Donnell always spewing ban guns whenever a nut job goes crazy and shoots innocent people. Because they are issues.

I noticed that you used the phrase "may never change" when you mentioned abortion and that uncertainty makes it an important as well as a controversial issue.
As far as "non-issues" - I suspect that the media as well as a certain political party blows non-issues out of proportion when it becomes necessary to divert attention away from an important issue that they have been cheering on from the wrong side lines for a while now.

Thank goodness the Founding Fathers didn't feel that way. Of course, many in Europe took your stance with the Nazis, and look what happened.

And no, I'm not comparing your points with the Nazis (well, maybe abortion - it has killed more after all). I'm merely pointing out that we must be ever vigilant with our Constitutional rights.

Good point, but it would seem, at least in some arenas, the actual issues won't get discussed. Usually a discussion of ideas is met with exaggeration, vitriol, and sometimes even name-calling.

So, some people rant instead.

Choices - that's what it's about. It is your choice to own a gun. If you are raped or a condom malfunctioned or there is something life threathening, it is your choice to have an abortion (although, some use it as a birth control method - I don't agree, but it is not MY CHOICE).

Perhaps those of us who are gun owners do consider it an issue when we have anti-gun extremists trying to outlaw them.

What may or may not be important to you doesn't mean that it may or may not be important to someone else.

2ND Amendment is NON ISSUE?
Much like FREEDOM OF SPEECH is a non issue.

I think you are all wrong. What a NON ISSUE is to me is gay marriage & the action of foreign governments.
