I have never felt that I "fit in" and, yes, for me that was a choice. I am comfortable with who I am so don't actually feel a need to "fit in". For me to "fit in" would mean that I would have to pretend to be someone I am not.....and that would be much more uncomfortable than being who I am and a bit on the outside. I would rather be me than pretend to be what I am not just to feel part of the in crowd. So, I am content to be a little bit on the outside looking in. Sometimes I find I am comfortable enough in the company to join in...........but that is also my choice.

No, not really. It's not a choice, but I wouldn't say I'm unhappy either. I associate with different types of people in different groups, so that I almost have to be a different person with each group. Most are less educated than I am and have different political views, so I talk about safe subjects or just keep quiet. I do have one very close friend with whom I can be myself.

There are people who may not "fit in" and find that it is not their choice. Some people are just raised differently and end up deviating from the masses without wanting to. I think these people are often unhappy and struggling.

Barely. I'm friends with just about everybody. But I'm just different from them so I isolate myself a lot of times. If I had a choice I probably would want to hang out with people more. But I'm pretty happy where I am because its not like people hate me and pick on me or anything.

No I don't. I used to want to, when you're at school it's very hard to know that you don't fit in. But now I realise that to fit in I would have to compromise myself and my values, act like someone I'm really not, and generally be someone I don't particularly like. I know who I am now and somehow I find that when I'm with my few but good friends, I seem to fit perfectly.

I used to fit in and be like a stereotypical kid; cheerleader, party girl, yeah all that stuff. I think I was like that because it was easier to be that way then to stand out and follow to the beat of my own drum.

Nope, I've always been an odd ball. No it's not a choice, it's just the way I was made.

Nope! I never fit in! I'm proud and 100% happy to be who I am. I don't feel the need to conform to other people's ways. I'm uberly confident and I don't need people to tell me what's right or wrong. It's my life. I get to decide.

No not really. I can get along with just about anybody but I don't fit into any particular groups.
