We'll be carrying two medium sized suitcases, don't know whether that makes any difference to the fare. Thanks in advance for any answers!! :-)

David, I've already done that (going by tube) dragging luggage up and down stairs and escalators, dodging crowds and banging suitcases against other passengers' shins... and decided this time we want to avoid all that! After all, it's Christmas time... Thanks anyway, I appreciate your "cost-effective" advice, but this time I want a taxi!! Have a great Xmas ;-)

Taxi rank at Liverpool Street is next to platform 10.
The fare will depend on the time of day. £15 on a quiet day, more in the rush hour if the traffic is bad and more at weekends or at night. Allow £20-25
There is no extra for number of passengers or number of bags.

£20-30 I should think depending on the traffic conditions. Maybe a bit cheaper if you ring up and book a minicab. The queues for taxis at stations can be long so it may be worth ringing up for a cab before you arrive.

Not sure how much it would. However, I would just phone a taxi company up. Do a google search on 'London black cab' because it'll throw up a number of black cab companies. I've supplied links to the first four that were displayed in my search.
