You can never prevent any criminal element from obtaining a gun, no matter how many laws you pass.

To truly defeat Islamic terrorism, you need to take a deep, hard look at some of the Arab nations, and their intolerant governments, that tend to breed terrorists, and at times, even harbor them for political purposes.

Saudi Arabia, Qatar and U.A.E. have all been caught at various times giving a blind eye to terrorist activity in their countries, and even having members of their government agency being sympathetic to terrorist causes.

Until these Arab nations embrace real freedom, and offer a real chance for your average Arab citizen to advance beyond peasantry, terrorism will continue to foster there.

Let's remember that the vast majority of Al-Qaeda are not Iraqis, or even Iranians. The vast majority are Arabs, that come from our so-called "allies". I don't see enough pressure being brought to bear on these countries to help fight that growth.

We seem to be always fighting the blossoms, but never the roots. Our own addiction to fossil fuel is likely the reason why.

Doubt it seriously, even if we prevented any weapons trade home made bombs can still be made from household items and during WWII bullets were made in the Pacific by the resistance from curtain rods. Should we stop covering our windows too? Interesting possibilities.

and yet we just signed on to a new deal to more heavily arm Saudi Arabia (where most of the 9/11 terrorists hailed from) and Israel.

hmmm.

P.S. The BEST way to save ourselves this headache would be to break our addiction to foreign oil so as to stop funding the little bastards.

They are also using chemicals that can be easily synthesized from common household products. Should we ban all those to?
