This is a good idea however rainwater that runs over the surface picks up dirt along the way and would transmit it to the windshield, also automakers make vehicles that will generally be of good service in warm and cold climates as it would be to expensive to have different equipment for different regions. The pure water would freeze in colder climates and would be dirty in dustier desert climates. But it is a good idea just needs some tweaking I would also suggest not insulting people whom you are asking a question and use the spell check.God bless

Are you asking 'Why not collect the rain that falls when it rains, to use the collected rain when the windshield needs to be washed?' - rather than have a built-in window washing system that needs to have water put in the reservoir container for use when the windshield needs to be washed'?
I think that could be a good idea if developed properly.
One possible problem could be dirt and other residue getting into the 'rain-water collection reservoir' but that could be solved with the proper design.
Probably the main reason it wouldn't be done could be that it would cost more to make that than it does for the existing system - but, it could be offered as an option when the vehicle is bought.
Good idea, nonetheless.

Are you asking 'Why no longer carry mutually the rain that falls while it rains, to apply the amassed rain while the windshield desires to be washed?' - extremely than have a geared up-in window washing gadget that desires to have water put in the reservoir container for use while the windshield desires to be washed'? i think of that must be a reliable concept if developed precise. One available concern must be airborne dirt and dirt and different residue stepping into the 'rain-water sequence reservoir' yet that must be solved with the right layout. in all risk the final reason it does no longer be completed must be that it would fee greater to make that than it does for the present gadget - yet, it must be presented as an selection while the motor vehicle is bought. reliable concept, in spite of the undeniable fact that.

Because, being a thick person, I would rather fill my windscreen washer bottle with a solution of H2O and screenwash than a dose of rain water. Most folk only take doses of medicine.......cars only need oil, water and petrol....unless you are American when you should read petrol to mean gas :-)

1.The crap in the rain would screw up the washer bottle pump.
2.The crap in the rain would Fuzz up the insides of the washer bottle.

Show me a windshield water bottle with water in it and I will show you one dirty windshield.
Plus with your logic, let rain fall onto a dirty car, and wash the dirt into the bottle to later plug the small sprayer. Plus rain drops are formed around a speck of dirt, so even more dirt build up. Who's going to pay for new squirter nozzles every 4 months?
