He's a great man.

I wish we in the U.S. had a few like him.

His only mistake is supporting anti-gun laws. Does the British left REALLY believe that a "Labour" or Tory government will protect working class people?

But on other policies? Great! He is honest, courageous, and has a deft hand at puncturing the balloons of right-wing blowhards. I LOVED watching the recording of him challenging that doofus Coleman in the U.S. Senate.

EDIT

DARN! Just read some of the other comments. He went on one of those stupid "reality" shows??? Another one of my heroes down the tube.

He was reviled by most of the British public, because he was seen to be too friendly with Saddam Hussein.
But he was hailed as a hero in the British press, when he stood up to the American Senate. People thought he had given us Brits something to be proud of again.

He should never have taken part in Big Brother, he made an absolute fool of himself, and what's more he should have been working, taking care of his constituents needs, instead being part of a silly show.

He had it made, after the Senate hearing. He had the respect of the British public and the press. Why he made the senseless decision to go and ruin it all by taking part in Big Brother, we will never know.
