When I originally read your description I dont' think I read it quite thoroughly enough and I thought it might be something else. After re-reading your description, it sounds like your rabbit has an ear infection or wry neck.
Make sure that where you keep your rabbit has good ventilation but doesn't allow a draft on your rabbit. A build up of too much ammonia can cause the head to tilt on young rabbits. What I just described is called wry neck.
If your rabbit has had a cold lately or the base of its ears feel warmer than normal, then the cause is probably an ear infections. Ear infections normally occur after the rabbit has had a cold or respiratory infection. The ear infection can throw off the rabbit's sense of balance thereby causing the rabbit to tilt its head. Below is an article from Wikipedia on how the ears affect balance.

It would be a good idea to take your rabbit to the veterinarian, especially if the cause of the head turning is due to an ear infection.

You said your male rabbit was feeling a little friendly? Sometimes the female rabbit won't like this and run away. The male never stops going after her though. Also, it's very normal that rabbits freak themselves out. My male rabbit always get himself into trouble (like pushing against the cage door, knowing over stuff, or hitting into food bowls) this would make loud noises and scare himself as well as his other bunny mates. Make sure that where you place the cage has no sound or anything that may bother the rabbits at night. If there is nothing, they might sense or hear something outside u can't and spook themselves. Best to investigate what's the source of the problem so you can fix it. Good Luck!

Sounds like the rabbit has head tilt; which is more often a sign of illness, not the only illness.
The rabbit needs immediate vet treatment as it could be seriously ill.

My best guess would be a very severe/advanced case of head tilt. You do need to get your rabbit to a vet ASAP to stop this from progressing any further.
