No, don't expect a "vs. Slipknot" series...unless maggots invade this question...but seriously, answer this question.

You guys realize that this is a 4 (or 5) -way match...not a pair of 1-on-1's!

On a different note, I normally think of these 4 as the big 4 of modern hard rock. All 4 of these bands major pushed in hard rock that some of today's hard rock/alt-metal bands have. Queen might be in a different league though as they've gone on influence bands from a variety of genres...not just rock.

1. AC/DC- Bon Scott's or Brian Johnson's voice and Angus and Malcolm on guitar, they were the best
2. Queen- there has never been a rock band with their style of music and that's what made them so great
3. Guns N' Roses- Axel Rose and Slash alone were unbelievable
4. Aerosmith- they're great too, the rest are just better

AC/DC. They've held up much better over time. Bon Scott era AC/DC still sounds relevant. Older Aerosmith is OK, but it's clear they've sold out since their reincarnation in the late 80. GNR just doesn't have the body of work and at their best, I don't think they were a match for AC/DC. Queen had some great songs, but their albums had plenty of bad ones as well. AC/DC albums, beginning to end, are much more stronger.

1. Axl Rose, Bon Scott nor Brian Johnson has a very low voice. Steven Tyler is ok, not much range. David Lee Roth can't. sing. period. (that doesn't means he's bad). Joe Elliot is low-ish. Bon Jovi is more of a normal rock voice. 2. Bon Jovi for the best voice. 3. Eddie Van Halen has his own unique tone, "Brown sound" I believe it's called. 4. Joe Perry 5. Brad Whitford 6. Izzy 7. Duff McKagan, the punk 8. I believe Duff 9. Rick Allen *snickers* 10. Rick Allen, the dude has one arm Alex Van Halen Steven Adler Phili Rudd Joey Kramer Tico Torres 11. GNR - Slash, Duff, Izzy, Axl, Steven ACDC - Bon Scott, ANgus Young, Malcolm Young, Cliff Williams, Phil Rudd Aerosmith - Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Joey Kramer, Tom Hamilton Van Halen - EVH, AVH, David Lee Roth, Michael Anthony, void and I'm too lazy to do the others.

Sex, Drugs, and Rock N Roll.
Which of these bands stayed together (original lineup) the longest, had four original songwriters, and never bowed to current trends? QUEEN are easily the best group. Even their "non-hits" were original songs. Freddie was the best rock vocalist of all time. His super solo album "Barcelona" was the biggest rock classical cross over.
20 albums over 20 years with the same line- up,
200 Million records sold and counting.
Greatest number of weeks on the charts over The Beatles.
None of the other groups could even come in second to the greatest British band of all time. In terms of originality, hit songs, and stadiums filled, only Kiss measures up to the platinum and gold standard of Queen.
GNR would be 2. Appetite For Destruction and Use Your Illusion and Lies were exciting, but those cover songs are not originals. Appetite was the 1980's best rock effort. They should rank lower since that so called new album is not out yet. GNR saluted the late great Freddie Mercury. They score big points for doing so.
AC/DC is #3. Solid as hell rockers, but they always sound the same. Dull. Dull. Dull. Bon Scott was way more daring than Brian Johnson. They used to border on punk.
Back in Black was their best. It will sell forever.
Aerosmith is # 4. Overrated to death. Once a mighty rock band with crunchy riffs, turned limp MTV lapdogs. They put out an album named for their corporate owner's Sony!
All credibility lost after the really awful "Don't Wanna Miss A Thing". I wanna miss them in concert after that mess.
Slipknot is #5. For lack of listening. I got too old for their heavy attack.
Sheer audacity, class, talent, and biggest guts in the biz, Queen will rule forever! They are the champions.
So original. So true to their vision. Never sold out to America's pigeon holing of their eclectic tastes.
They just sold out stadiums around the rest of the world.
A new album and tour is to arrive in 2008. Cheers!

It depends on what part of their career... GnR was only able to put out one good CD (but what a CD!) and Aerosmith's recordings are only good from the 70's. Never caught on to Queen... So i'd have to go
EARLY Aerosmith
AC/DC
Guns N Roses
Queen
I have to disagree with the comment above about GNR being the biggest influence in todays music. No sucessful band out there in the last 15 years sounds like them. Its all D-tuned post grunge Creed stuff. Very un-GnR... No band has been able to come out with flat out rock n roll and win the hearts and wallets of the general public since 1990.
