very very doubtful. It probably means that you know how to add and subtract and maybe multiply.
Just kidding, most of my high school teachers were the single most important teachers I have ever had. Not because they were extremely smart mathematicians but Because they influenced my path in life by making the subject interesting. If you could do that you are better than a mathematician because pure mathematicians really don't contribute that much to society besides theoretical mambojambo, that can never be used in application.

I'd say no. A mathematician does math as his occupation. This is different than teaching math as an occupation. I think of a mathematician as someone doint Phd or post-doc work in theoretical mathematics.

When you say teacher, i'm thinking you mean you teach below college-level mathematics. Also, do you have a Phd? Mathematicians usually spend time doing research, and teaching in high school and elementary school, means that you don't really enhance your ability, because you just keep on teaching the same thing over and over again. Saying all that i have all the respect for all educators that are grooming people like me, whether they are professors or just teachers.

Sure. I'm a student, but I wouldn't say I'm not a mathematician!

It turns out that this depends directly on your drinking and proving habits, because...

Listen, you can be anything you want. If you want to be a mathematician, so be it.
