You shouldn't be afraid of periods. It just means that you're healthy and you can have children later on.
Sometimes you don't even get cramps. I never got any(lucky me) and my periods are really regular and I only started6 months ago. The most annoying thing about periods is you "curious" friends. They might keep bugging you about your period if you tell them. I fyou do get it, DO NOT tell your friends unless you're comfortable to.
You should probably start carrying a purse with you at school. And keep an emergency kit: two pad and an extra pair of underwear. That way, you won't have to tell a teacher you started yours if you get it at school. Now, that would be embarrasing;)

when i first got it i started to cry. Once you get it you don't even know it is there just go through life like it doesn't exist you will be fine

uhmn what about it dont u like? the bleeding? it doesnt hurt. You might get cramps but you can take tylenol for that. everyone goes through puberty. its natural. youre not alone. Everything will be fine. dont freak out...=)

i didn't get mine until i was fully developed and in freshman year of high school. don't sweat it. i know everybody makes it seem really bad at first but it's really not!
oh and don't be afraid to talk to your mom..........after all, she's the one who's gotta buy you supplies...heeheehee

the only thing you should be worried or scared about is the cramps
you're first period will not be heavy and flowy. usually it is very thick and light.
