Am I the only person who doesn't see how Kidd can improve the Mavs? Dallas needs a clutch scorer so we'll get the worst shooting point guard in the NBA? and any trade for Kidd would most certainly include Harris the ONLY player who can guard Tony Parker, and slow down Nash's scoring. Kidd can't shoot and he can't defend the Tony Parker. Or Tim Duncan. or Baron Davis...TMac....Lebron.....Why would he help Dallas again? Let's not talk about the whole 20 mil salary he's commanding.

the mavs would have have to most likely give up Harris and either Terry or Howard. They would then not necessarily be any better. Kidd will be the playmaker they dont have, but they will miss Terry's 3 point shooting, and Devin Harris's quick feet on D. They wont improve much with losing howard either who is picking up the slack for Dirk's not so good beginning of the season.

The $20 million salary isn't a big deal since it's close to expiring. It's actually an attractive part of the deal.

What Kidd can bring to the Mavericks is someone that can provide structure to the offense. The Mavericks tend to rely on quite a bit of isolation plays, which isn't necessarily the best route to go if you want to win a championship.

He might not be able to defend Parker and Nash, but he also forces them to work on defense as well because he's so active in trying to get his teammates open shots.

it would be a great trade.. dallas needs a true point guard to run the offense. it doesnt matter if he can shoot he isnt a ghooting guard! harris is good and i would hate to see him go but kidd is one of the top 3 point guards in the game and we need him. remember Terry was the point guard and he can shoot but look where we ended up getting upset by the GSW. Kidd can help take alot of pressure from Nowitzki and would be a great fit.

You make a really good point. However, Kidd does offer a lot of benefit for the Mavericks should they acquire him. He will provide leadership and take a lot of pressure off Dirk in tough situations. He may be a streaky shooter but he commands attention that results in open shot for his teamates. That being said, in my opinion Dallas will need to give up too much in a trade for Kidd.

Because he's similar to Nash in the way that he can just make the plays. I think he would fit in pretty well actually. Besides, I agree with "J" when he said that Kidd isn't a shooting guard. That's Terry's job.

dallas. in sport 6 or 7. we observed a preview of the sequence between those 2 communities. Dallas gained by potential of a huge margin. i think of the Jason Kidd commerce is growing to be greater effectual as time passes. Dallas is a clean team, waiting for the playoffs. besides, the recent orleans team is inexperience. The season is thoroughly distinctive from the playoffs. The rigidity intensifies by potential of a protracted shot. i do no longer think of chris paul and the hornets can take care of it

I think we saw the best Mavs last year
When they traded nash, they lvl remained the same
I think the same if Kidd joins the Mavs
They won't be any better than they are now, a great team but not a championship team

more than a clutch shooter, the mavs needs leadership and a better point guard. after that whopping in the hands of the nuggets, avery johnson has taken away the reins of running the team from harris and is starting to call the plays from the sidelines himself.

Why? Because they need to get over the hump to beat San Antonio and Phoenix. Cuban will not have to pay his entire salary either. Simple.
