With Hume. "How do we KNOW that the sun will rise tomorrow?"
All to often, that which has been thought to be known has been discovered eventually to be otherwise. This position is like
throwing in the towel."
Is this a bad position? Kant thought so, and proceeded to attempt one of the greatest efforts in the history of philosophy to refute Hume. What he really achieved, though, was just creating a smooth transition to Hegelian dualism. Which eventually led to Nietzsche, and then to Heidegger and existentialism. So, though I may disagree with the statement...the modern historical development of philosophy supports it.
