I miss Bledsoe :(
I wouldn't call him the best, but I would call him underrated.
I grew up with him being the Pats QB and I had a little trouble letting go when he left. I do believe if he didn't get hurt that year, he would have been the QB to win the Super Bowl, but maybe that's just me who thinks that.
*Tdonn: I was actually hoping that was what he was going to do when I found out he was retiring.

Drew Bledsoe was one of the cornerstones of the Patriots resurgence that began when he was the NFL's number 1 draft pick.
Drew had a great career and the 2001 Superbowl would not have been possible if he didn't come into the AFC Championship game after Tom Brady went out an ankle injury to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers.
All Patriots fans owe Drew Bledsoe a debt of gratitude and a tip of the cap !!

Man i was a big Bledsoe fan until he retired
I agree with you he is the 6th best QB that ever played
I mean come on if the Jets never hurt Bledsoe, There would be like no Tom Brady or no 3 Super Bowl Wins....

Being marginally above average for a long career does not qualify you as the best ever. He barely justifies his draft position.
How are there people who honestly believe he is one of the 10 best qb's ever to play in the league? If that's the case, Vinny Testaverde is the 4th best, and Warren Moon edges out Kerry Collins as the best.
What qualifications does he bring to the table?
He was a solid starter for quite a few years, but he threw way too many interceptions, held onto the ball too long, couldn't move around the pocket to save his life, and he never was a team leader. I don't know that I ever would list him as being one of the top 5 qb's in the league in any given year. He's a slightly more successful Kerry Collins.

Ever?
Well, who knows what might have happened back in 2001 if Bledsoe doesn't get hurt and some young upstart QB called Brady didn't step in?
He was certainly good, and was for a while one of my favourite QB's in the league, but after leaving the Pats, I think he peaked in his first season with Buffalo, before going steadily downhill. Not a massive drop in abilities, but you could see it.
Question back to you: all things considered, do you honestly see him in the Hall Of Fame one day?

Bledsoe can throw, but he takes way too many sacks and is not mobile in the pocket at all. Last year he may have been in the bottom 10 as far as QBs go. All time he doesnt even crack the top 150.

I liked Drew when he was with New England, but no he wasn't the best ever. He was good, but he had trouble at times reading defenses and he had issues with up the middle pressure. I was sad when he retired, I really hoped he would have gone to the bears who needed a qb and could feasibly be a superbowl team with Drew.

Well if it wasnt for Bledsoe the NFL might not have ever seen how good Romo and Brady are. take that how ever you want. I think the knock on him was he was really easy to sack. no mobility at all.

Underrated, yes...but I'm quite happy with Tom Brady in New England...Thank you...Also, he didn't have a spec of mobility, so he got sacked a lot...He also forced passes too much...He's up there in INTs...I think probably #2 behind Favre...

yeah ... good old Drew .. I believe all Pats fans liked him and stood by him ... he did have an awesome arm, but threw too many interceptions .. could not move in pocket (probably cause he always with that look like he just smoked a fatty) .. nothing wrong with that, but does not mix w/football
