1. Why shouldn't dying kids get treatment?
I believe they should. but SOMEONE has to foot the bill. I think his parents should.
2. Shouldn't poor people have a chance to succeed as well as the rich?
They do. The idea that you can't move up the social ladder in a capitalistic society is a defeatist communistic one. it comes from Marx
3. What's wrong with cleaning up pollution?
Nothing.
4.What's wrong with increasing cigarette taxes to give poor children access to health care?
The fact that I smoke. I'm beginning to feel like a pariah. either outlaw the ****ing things or stop jacking up the prices to "discourage" people from smoking.
5.What's wrong with gay's living where they want to, as long as there is no harm?
I'm not touching this one.
6.What's wrong with NOT starting wars where millions die?
Nothing. counter: what's right with letting someone kill millions unimpeded?
7.What's wrong with giving blacks a fair chance?
Nothing. I don't know a single person against this. It's the people who make their money off poor blacks that spout this: i.e. J Jackson, SR and A Sharpton
8. What"s wrong with speaking out against president Bush?
Nothing, It's your constitutional right. But if you're spouting factless rhetoric, I have every right to point out when you're wrong.
9. What's wrong with holding the government accountable?
Nothing. I've been trying to do that for years. But my DEMOCRATIC senators don't listen to anyone but their party leaders. (D Durbin and B Obama - neither listen to the will of the people of Illinois)
10. In what way are tax cuts for the rich characterized as self-reliance?
They promote the economy. look at the numbers for a year on either side of the cuts.

1. Why are kids dating in the first place? They should be chaperoned and celibate.
Not realistic? Sorry, but if you play adult games you need to take adult responsibility!
Parents beware.
2. Definitely yes. It takes work and they should be appropriately rewarded for their efforts. When they succeed they will no longer be the poor.
3. PLEASE clean up pollution. As a conservative I believe in conserving. That includes conserving the environment. Note: I did NOT say PRESERVE the environment. That would prevent appropriate use. If something needs PRESERVING it belongs in a museum, or a park.
4. I do not promote tax increases for the simple reason that I believe taxes are a way to take power from the people and give it to potentially tyrannical politicians. Keep the power (money) in the hands of the citizens. Cigarette taxes hit the poor far more than the wealthy. In addition, if everyone quit smoking, the revenue would dry up, then who will pay?
5. No problem. But they should not be afforded "special rights" that do NOT apply to all other citizens.
6. When war is appropriate, it is far worse to NOT fight the battles. Many millions more suffer when tyranny and terror is tolerated and HOPE is denied.
7. Nothing wrong. the same principles stated in #2 & # 5 above apply to this issue.
8. I speak out against President Bush all the time. When he is wrong, he is wrong. He is still a much better President than either Gore or Kerry would have been.
9. It we don't hold the Government accountable, we suffer the consequences of our own inaction.
10. Personally, I have never heard of tax cuts for the rich being described as self-reliance. They DO help boost the Nation's economy and create jobs.

1. Why shouldn't dying kids get treatment?

Where? In Darfur? Why just kids? Why not adults? All we need to do is nationalize the entire healthcare and drug industry.

2. Shouldn't poor people have a chance to succeed as well as the rich?

Are you aware the majority of the Forbes 500 are first generation millionaires? They have the same chance I do. It's slim but it's still a chance. Success is all relative anyway.

3. What's wrong with cleaning up pollution?

Nothing. What's wrong is wanting government to do it all. Government wastes 35% of every dollar they spend on buracracy.

4.What's wrong with increasing cigarette taxes to give poor children access to health care?

Let's just ban cigarettes and take the money from the people.

5.What's wrong with gay's living where they want to, as long as there is no harm?

There's no harm as long as they say indoors. Indoors I don't care what they do.

6.What's wrong with NOT starting wars where millions die.

That's fine. You go get everyone to sit around a camp fire and sing together and I'll join in. What's wrong with the people who don't want war sitting down with the folks who start trouble and convince them to quit doing that.

7.What's wrong with giving blacks a fair chance?

A fair chance doesn't mean you give them an advantage over anyone else. Their great great grandparents were slaves. They aren't. Broke is a temporary situation. Poor is an attitude problem.

8. What"s wrong with speaking out against president Bush?

Nothing. But saying everything he says is a lie and knowing what you say it the truth because he's a Republican is wrong.

9. What's wrong with holding the government accountable?

Nothing. Let's just do the same for BOTH parties.

10. In what way are tax cuts for the rich characterized as self-reliance?

The whole tax system is screwed up. And I don't hear Democrats proposing more than putting bandaids where major surgery is needed. And oh by the way. When you say rich how many thousands are you talking? Every time I hear Democrats talk about taxing the rich I end up paying more taxes. And I'm not even six figures, I'm not even high fives. The poorest person in the US is richer than many rich are in other countries.

Despite the potential to make myself look like a moron, I'm going to answer these questions.

1. It's not simply a matter of kids dying, but of everyone. In economic terms, life does not have infinite value, otherwise every intersection would have a stoplight, every highway would have a speed limit of 3, and you'd never be allowed to smoke, drink, or do any other dangerous thing. We make trade-offs all the time, and choosing whether to fund food stamps or SCHIP is certainly difficult, even for conservatives.

2. While it's true that it's probably more difficult for poor people to elevate themselves from their situation than it is for the rich to stay in theirs, this question is misleading. If the government created the social stratification which exists today, then it was wrong to do so and should take measures to rectify it. However, if the situation is the result of hard work and intelligence winning out over laziness and inability, then there's no reason to fix it. People shouldn't expect handouts for nothing.

3. Nothing's wrong with cleaning up pollution, but people could do it on their own instead of asking the government to do it for them. If you don't like the idea that a business pollutes, then don't patronize it. They'll get the message.

4. This a false dilemma. Increasing cigarette taxes is a wholly separate issue from giving kids access to health care. I've already addressed the second issue, but as for the first, it seems more than a little mean-spirited to make something legal, then tax the bejeepers out of it justbecause you don't like it. What's more, the link between higher taxes and lower rates of smoking isn't very credible, though the taxes do lower rates of teen smoking. Apparently, then, taxing cigarettes only makes a bunch of smokers pay more, and that doesn't seem all that fair.

5. Again, this question sets up a false situation. No republican in Congress that I know of is advocating a "gay ghetto." Change the question to "What's wrong with gays getting married?" and the story might be a bit different. It's not the government's job to determine that sort of thing.

6. Simple: standing idly by while a deranged government tortures and kills its citizens. (Statistic: about 1.1 million Americans have died in all our wars combined. Other statistic: 400,000 Americans are estimated to have died in 2000 due to obesity- and inactivity-related illnesses.)

7. I'm not going to touch this question.

8. Nothing

9. Nothing

10. Part one: the rich still pay the vast majority of the taxes in the US. Part two: The poor (because of EITC and other programs) pay little or nothing. Part three: Any tax cuts in any bracket along with cuts in government spending mean that people are having more of a say in what to do with their money. Therefore, more self-reliance.

I'll try to answer your questions civilly

1) Dying kids should get treatment. However, if they are from a rich family, the family should pay for it. If they are from a poor family, then medicare should pay for it.

2) Poor people do have a chance to succeed. They do need the ambition though.

3) There is nothing wrong with cleaning up pollution but if I am not causing the pollution should I have to pay for it?

4) If you increase the cigarrette tax more people will quit so there will be less tax money coming in.

5) Gays can live where they want to, that is their right.

6) I guess you are refering to Iraq and I don't believe the overall death toll is above 500,000. Other than that, I can't think of the last war Republicans have started that ended with more than a million deaths. Johnson got us into Vietnam, Roosevelt got us into WWII. Wilson got us into WWI. Jefferson Davis started the Civil War. All democrats.

7) Again, blacks do have a fair chance, but it takes ambition to take those chances.

8) Nothing wrong with speaking out, but just back your arguements up with facts.

9) Nothing wrong with that.

10) Never heard it put that way before. I have heard it called "corporate welfare" which doesn't make sense to call not taking money from someone "welfare".

2. They have the opportunity to succeed as well as the rich. It is up to the individual.

3. We clean up pollution because we want to live in a clean world.

4. When people quit buying cigarettes, there will be no money for poor children health. How do you define rich and poor?

5. It is none of my business what goes behind closed doors.

6. Peace for the sake of peace is surrender. I do not want to surrender my freedoms and my way of life.

7. I believe in the content of a person character not the color of their skin.

8. IT is OK to disagree with the President, but do not use name calling or personal insults or lies.

9. We are demand to hold government accountable since 1981.

1. Poor kids get treatment for any problem they have, regardless of their ability to pay. It is against federal law to turn down someone because they cannot pay. See: illegal aliens.

2. Loaded question without any real inquiry. Next.

3. Cleaning up pollution can be bad when it is done at the expense of working families around the world.

4. The problem with taxing cigarettes is that it does not deter smokers, who are usually poor. Taxing the poor is unfair.

5. Gays live where they want to already?

6. Not starting wars means that millions die. See: WWII.

7. Loaded question without any real inquiry. Next.

8. Nothing. Feel free to do so.

9. Loaded question without any real inquiry. Next.

10. Paying for things yourself is the definition of self reliance. Tax cuts for the rich is a red herring. Wikipedia that because you surely do not know what it means.

All of these seem to be non-issues that have all been addressed. Dying kids do get treatment, poor people are afforded equal opportunity to the same public education as we all are and receive government assistance for continued education thus giving them the chance to succeed. I see nothing wrong with 3 through 9, all are being addressed. #10, the rich pay the majority of the taxes and tax cuts have been across the board, those who did not receive a tax cut don't pay taxes at all.

Easy questions:

1) Loaded. Noone is stopping them. The real question is why should liberals try to keep their treatment a secret? What are they hiding?

2) Poor people have more opportunities in the US than anywhere else in the world. All they have to do is work.

3) No one is against cleaning up pollution. Plenty of people are against being bullied and lied to about it. We don't need a doomsday conspiracy theory to get us to do it.

4) These are two completely seperate issues. Tax cigs, yes or no. Give poor children health care? Already have it: it's called Medicaid. Again, don't lie to us. SCHIP is for the middle class, not the poor.

5) What?

6) Stupid liberals think that we started the war. They forget that terrorists have been burning down our embassies and killing our service members since 1979. (When was the last time you heard a liberal ask terrorists why they start wars?)

7) Blacks have a better chance in the US than whites. They have been awarded "special rights" as a protected group under law, contrary to the Equal Protection Clause.

8) Liberals don't speak out against president Bush. Be honest. They lie about him. They make up any conspiracy theory they can think of and throw common sense to the wind just to have the right to express themselves. This kind of expression is morally reprehensible and liberals ought to have no expectation of being taken seriously or even acknowledged.

9) Conservative talk radio holds the Bush administration accounatible, especially the Laura Ingraham show and Bill O'Reilly. Liberals seek to destroy Bush and use any means to do so. Don't confuse the two.

Jade made a good point. I was raised in a single parent home dirt poor. I am now within arm's reach of a 6-figure income as a CPA. I'm interning now and will sit for the exam in 2008, all a result of nothing but work and determination.

And I'm not a tenth the success story that Oprah is! Ask her how the poor can have a chance!

1) NOT sure what this means?
2) They do have as much of a chance to succeed. I'm poor. I have a chance to succeed.
3) Nothing. Ever hear of personal responsibility?
4) Cigarette taxes are HUGE already.
5) Nothing. What's wrong with non gays making fun of them? Nothing.
6) STARTING WARS? You have got to be kidding me. Did we "ASK" for Pearl Harbor too? Did we START WWII? Hmm.
7) They do have a fair chance. I like blacks and I have no idea what you are talking about. Abe Lincoln was a conservative, a smart man and he gave them their liberties. Whatever.
8) Nothing - if it is done with some sort of respect and not blind facts. Around here it's kinda like the blind leading the blank on that.
9) Nothing. That is our job.
10) Well, you can't penalize someone for doing well. If they worked for it, they deserve it. You already take a ton from them. How much more do you want? Do you think they should be put into a studio apartment somewhere? THEY WORKED FOR IT> YOU DIDN'T! GET IT?
