Of course it is a fascinating subject but it is not the ONLY thing of importance in the world. Do teens even know about the world or even the world around them?

YES! They do thank you very much =D

I'm a teenager and sex isn't often on my mind. Even when I'm thinking about someone I like, I'm never picturing sex or anything, just simple kissing. Sex crazed teens are not even as abundant as one would think. The only real sex crazed people in our school spend more time out of school on suspension than in school.

I know plenty about the world. I know who's running for president, I know where there is war and where there is peace. I know a lot. And, I agree, sex is a fascinating subject, but I'm too young to wind up with an STD or something like that so it'll stay just a fascinating subject for me until I'm ready...

Oh, and by the way, this is all coming from a guy =D

You assume that based off of rash generalizations you haven't taken the time to sit down with a variety of teenagers and ask them what they are thinking about. Many of us do in fact now a lot about the world maybe even more than older people because we aren't as biased at this age and we see all aspects. And if sex happens to be on the mind its only because the older generation is all over television and movies and advertisements displaying it. Teenagers aren't the ones producing the raunchy entertainment they are just watching it since its available.

Do adults know of the world around them? Go to a street somewhere with a map and ask people to point out where Angola is - hey, I'll be generous, ask people to point out where IRAQ is; and even though it's in the news every day I bet half of them don't get close.

And yes, teenagers DO think about things other than sex - it's just it's still brand new and exciting for them. Don't you remember being young?

i do, but i am also not the average teen either lol. teens are being raised by mtv it seems like. my mom does not work so she as able to sit and have all the time in the world to properly raise me, no offense to moms who do work. im not trying to put you down! i am just saying the world was a better place when there was a parent at home alot more often ya know! but it is harder nowadays and moms especially those who are single have no choice but to work. the youth is suffering from this!

Yes. They think about video games, the Internet, music, ipods, cell phones, clothes, food, movies, TV, their friends and families, school and sometimes even the environment. :)

Sex is a big issue at that age because that's when they've just discovered it. New is interesting, and puberty plays a role. Be patient.

It might have something to do with being around the age of puberty and self discovery. Besides, that's the only reason humans are alive. We are only here to grow, reproduce and die to keep our species going....anything and everything else really doesn't matter.
