I don't why I found this so funny, but it's true.
Perhaps car bombs are the only access to weapons they have?! I have no clue. But it's very disturbing.
It's times like these I am thankful for my sunny day in my cozy suburban CA home working from home!

Has anyone ever wondered or even noticed that of all the extremists thru-out history, what percentage were women? Men feel a need to control and will go to any lengths to acquire it. Wars, ethnic cleansing, terrorism, to name a few atrocities have all been played out by MEN. The way I see it if they can put 1 man on the moon why not all of them, the world would be a much more peaceful and loving planet.

don't think violence is justified under any circumstances. Whether it's violence of the victim or the violence of the oppressor, I don't think there is any justification at all for violence. But the sort of violence which has come to be associated with certain groups in the Muslim world which I personally abhor would be like the violence of the Abu Sayyef in the southern part of the Philippines. They loot, they kidnap, they blackmail people, they target innocent civilians and all the rest of it. I see this as a tendency that exists in all cultures and civilizations.
There are groups like that in Japan, in Italy, in Germany. It's not confined to the Muslim world in any way. The reason why they do this and try to justify this in the name of Islam is because they need an ideological basis. And what better ideological justification than something which is linked to religion? Because that carries with it a very powerful emotional thrust. And they need that emotional thrust to justify what they're doing.
It's also a way, I suppose, of squaring with their own conscience. They do all these killings because they see it as something which is justified in the name of religion. It brings merit to them from a religious point of view

This is a complex issue not best understood by a simplistic approach.
However, that aside, there is a legitimate point of debate: when will suicide bombing fall out of fashion?
Suicide bombing on this scale is a relatively new things, traceable back in recent history to the 1983 truck bombing of two barracks buildings in Beirut. Ever since then, it has become a trademark way of inflicting casualties and terror, as well as a statement of intent.
I don't see it going out of fashion any time soon, because it has proved effective at polarising opinion and raising the debate about Islam to higher levels.
For someone in their twenties to hear from me, in my forties, that there was very little public consciousness of Islam (at any meaningful level) tweny years ago must seem strange.
Fanatics use these tactics to do a few things.
First, to terrorise the public. If you cannot actually wage a war and destroy a people, you can frighten them and gain a different sort of power.
Second, to drive a wedge between Muslims and the society they live in. Terrorists want you to start abusing Muslims in the street, to shun them and make them feel unwelcome. Once that has worked, the general Muslim popoulation starts feeling more left out of society and more open to suggestions from the fanatics that Muslims must overthrow the west.
Third, to raise consciousness of Islam. Make its followers feel it is very powerful. Make everyone else feel that it is bigger, more powerful and ever present than it actually is. To get it into the news, every single day.
So, right now, the tactics work.
Unless people within the Muslim community start taking a different path from this group, then the fanatics get the message "suicide bombing works: keep it going".
So next time you feel like mouthing off at a Muslim somewhere, just remember that this is just what Osama and his friends want you to do.
Peace.
PS - raising debate about the topic is not racist. This is a very serious topic and one that too many people in this world are suffering at the hands of. The Pentacostalists are not suicide bombing. Let us not fear to debate. But let us debate, and not lurch to the first thing our anger places before us.

possibly when all Muslims support each other peacefully, as is most peoples view of the wishes of Mohammed. When they leave people to decide the level they wish to take their devotion to, here , men and women who wish to renounce the world, go into monasterys and convents , and are respected for it , there is a place for both ,at the end of the day, the islamic religion , is peaceful, and if they live and let live , as others are doing, they could be more respected, as devout adults, which is what young people need.

They are presently in a time dated 1428 i think. They are so backward i wonder how they are ever going to cope in the evolving world in another 10 years or so with the relentless march of innovation and technology. Their women are worse than second class citizens of anywhere and their Mullars are so badly educated it is beyond belief and yet each week they call the faithful to them and espouse such disgusting hatred for the westernised world that the dogma hides the truth from the rabble. Actually, not a great deal different from G.B. when Brown or his cohorts get caught out they go on the attack with a health scare or post office closures. It stops most people from pursuing the truth of a shambolic government policy!

When they don't care about their bother Muslims there is no hope for the future for any of us. Its time the western Muslims work harder to bring them into the 21st century and take the power away from the brainwashing Mosques .
I agree what a waste of the life that we were all given. It was Not given to kill everyone who has not got the same beliefs as yourself.

Is that really any different than the religious extremists in the US who blow up office buildings, shoot abortion providers, or shoot up a church because he was thrown out of it several years ago?
