Ok, it sounds like you went from 0 to 60 in about 3 seconds with no stops in between. It sounds like you really crossed a line with him and it is going to take some effort to bring him back in. You need to talk with him about what happened, what he did/didn't like about it and appologize for crossing the line. Stress that you only meant for this to be fun for the both of you and that you only want to make this work for the two of you.
Let him yell and vent, and maybe ask him if there are some things that he has been afraid to ask for that you could do in return. Most importantly just listen to him and be appologetic. Based on his response you clearly did somethign significant to him so this may take awhile.

Sounds like hubby is a bit over-emotional. That's a bit nuts. Did he say that he wanted you to take charge more. Maybe it's more that he didn't expect it?
Talk to him about how you want the two of you to be more adventurous in the bedroom. Discuss different options instead of just taking charge of that area yourself. You have to both be involved in your sex lives. Granted, he may not have much experience, but maybe by talking to him you can get an idea of his fantasies and wnats.
