In my family we have a 30 year-old fruitcake that gets passed around to a different lucky individual every year.

What are some of your Christmas Family Traditions?

Ummm our family gives away Betty the Blow up doll every year the family white elephant gift exchange!
Everyone watches for who got it last year to see what they bring in so they don't get it -- people not pay other family members to bring it so that no one knows who has it.....she's been wrapped with a snow shovel to hide her shape....stuffed in a wine bottle......poor Betty.

She's been around for about 13 years....time (and creative packaging) have aged her!

We write riddles on the gift tags so that the person opening has to guess what it is. Other times we'll divide the present into unrelated pieces - this was done with a garage door opener for my parents, as they opened presents they would get a couple of bolts, chain, etc

Edit:
By the way, the way to eat fruit cake is to start "soaking" it in brandy or other alcohol around September. Poke holes around it and pour 1/2 a cup on it and reseal, store it for 3 to 4 weeks, flip and repeat. By Xmas time, it is supposed to be quite good. (Got this from a Brit living in New Zealand).

Aww, that is a waste of a good cake. I like some fruitcakes and would like to get a nice one. I would eat it... or at least try it.

We put out milk and cookies for Santa and carrots of the reindeers.

Ha ha! I even have consistently mentioned that there is in user-friendly terms a million fruitcake interior the international and it gets handed around and around. I mentioned that until my mom started ingesting it on the top of her existence. We used to consistently attempt to purchase my mom chocolate coated cherrys and it exchange right into a race to ensure who ought to get them for her!

Wow, it must resemble an Acme brick by now. I think one of those fruitcakes was found in King Tut's tomb. My family really didn't have traditions per se, but my Mom (God rest her soul) always put out the....very.....same....decorations every year....

Ride around the town looking at homes with Christmas lights on.
What I'd really like to do is peak in the windows.

what the? a 30 year old fruitcake... you have to be exaggerating... wouldnt it be all moldy and sh*t? and the fruits inside are probably all fermented. you would probably get drunk if you ate it
