It's a hoax. Check out www.snopes.com (you should check out the site anyway - great urban legend web site!):

I know that it is printed along the rim

i think they should leave it on the coin... I got this email that said when yo find a coin on the ground and you think it is just useless well maybe God put it there for you to read Trust in God........

I was mad one day and i went to the store and found this dime on it and i looked down and saw it said Trust in God......

maybe if people were more into God there wouldn't be shootings everywhere!!!

Nobody's trying to get rid of God... besides, it's in the Constitution, so I didn't believe it. It's even harder to put it around the edge, and it's showing mastery of coin-making. I think it's cool that they're experimenting... However, they still aren't uniform. Occasionally, you'll find one that's upsidedown in regards to another, but whatever. Anyway, I knew it wasn't for real.

My friend just got a new dollar coin. "IN GOD WE TRUST" is on the SIDE of the coin. It's there. Just not "front and center".

I thought this story circulated more than a year ago, when the coins first came out. Did they muck it up again?

No, I use dollar coins when I do laundry, I know it's printed on the edge.

At first I did not see it and was thoroughly appalled! Then my son showed me the edge inscription. Well, that did make a difference. I would like to know why they did this, though. Thanks for the 'HEADS UP' on this web site.

i haven't got the email, but interesting article, i can't believe they are printing it on the edge instead of face of the coin.
