When should I water my poinsettia and how much?

I bought a poinsettia from a fundraiser. Its about 1 1/2 feet tall and about a foot and a half wide with 4 big blooms. When should I water it and how much. I've had it for a day.

Feel the soil. It only needs to be damp, NOT wet. You will kill it if you over water it, but you will kill it if you forget about it, too. It depends, too on how dry it is in your home. Just keep an eye on it.
