My Mom used to save the cards that were given to us and make Christmas placemats with them. She would cut out around anything that was 3-D looking or a pretty flower, scene, etc. and arrange them where they slightly overlapped then either modge podge them or lamenate them. One year she used card stock and taped them on it then got some of the thicker lamenating sheets that was more like sticky plastic and did it that way. We somehow always lost them between Christmases so it was a fun activity.
A lot of times we just kept the ones we didn't use until next Christmas, or stuck them into the wrapping of each gift we gave.

Make the gift tags out of them, however if the design you choose won't look right that way then save them, just in case you get a card from someone not on your list.
If you can cut out the main design make an ornament out of it. In the back with glitter glue write the year it was sent.
Collect and save as memorable ornaments.
Also if you have the picture cards where you insert you picture in it and send then extras can be used as name settings for the table, or name settings of the food if you serve buffet style.
As well as name tags, cut off the back then, use thick paper to write the recipients name.
Glitter for the name would be great!
If you are having people over who haven't been to you home use it as a border for a room title: "bathroom"
Best of luck.

I have a drawer I keep Christmas cards in along with Christmas address labels. I usually have a just a few left every year. After a few years I have enough leftovers to send them out to everyone again and not have to buy more.

I usually jusst save them for the next year. You can also get good deals at stores if you buy cards after Christmas. I save those for the following year as well.

Since I always buy blanks and write my own messages, I use the leftovers to make flash cards for study aids. In my case for learning Japanese words.

Keep a couple with you, along with some 'pass-along' cards and distribute them as the spirit prompts -- you never know who's day you will brighten!
