Let's look at them...as for poverty...LOL, that in itself is a joke. Did you know that most people living in poverty (government data) have a TV in each bedroom?
That's not REAL poverty...
High level of crime? As opposed to what? Is it really that high? I have NEVER had a crime (legal) committed against me...at least none I can remember...no theft, no assualt...I'd like to think I'm the average American guy.
What was the other one...oh yeah, a false sense of security. I guess this would have to be the one...I mean really, people all over the world will hate you for many, many reasons...greed, jealous, endless...this is worth worry about, if you NEED top worry about something.
I choose not to worry about junk beyond m,y control....

A sense of security makes people actually blind to the things going on in their world. I think the high number of people that live in poverty should be our concern. I mean, if we're so worried about what's happening that's devastating in other countries, we need to take a look around and see that America herself is not perfect. We should learn to care more about each other in this country before messing around in foreign affairs so much. If people cared more, there would be less crime. If there were less poverty, there would be less desperation, theft, and other crimes in the streets. Just addressing crime as a major concern is hard. You can't make everyone change, and the justice system is clogged up at the moment. We can't really prevent crime, but we can minimize it by caring about each other. That's why I think the high number of people that live in poverty should be most important to us Americans.

In my opinion- the high number of people in poverty. If we didn't have so many people in poverty we probably wouldn't have such a high level of crime (as in theft, etc). I think we'll always have a false sense of security. There are a lot of things that citizens don't know about their neighborhoods. Many crimes happen that people just don't know about and never will knnow about.

The greatest issue is the false sense of security. that false sense of security leads people to believe that they could never be poor and as a result not care about those living in poverty causing that problem to get worse. The false sense of security leads people to believe that they are immune from the effects of crime or being the victims of crime. It's 2007 and people still leave their doors unlocked, allow anybody to watch their children, meet with people they meet on the Internet..A false sense of security actually contributes to making the other 2 worse.

Well, if I have to choose between the 3 choices, I would say the high number of people that live in poverty...as I believe it is the people who were raised in poverty that there is a connection to the later, the high level of crime. HOWEVER..to me that is not the most important issue right now to Americans...It would be the way the country gives away money, food, to illegal aliens...and seems to let it's own citizens remain in poverty.....

Good Question. I think if we focused on OUR countries people living in poverty it would cut down on crime levels to some extent. Not sure what you mean on false sense of security but I do know that we are not always safe anywhere we live. In the area I live Meth is the largest problem. I so wish that any mother that has given birth to a child addicted to Meth should have their tubes tied without a choice bc there are so many children being born this way & it has caused them to be born with drug addictions & it takes at least 10 months to go through the drug withdrawels as a baby. Also more children are born with autism bc of the mother doing drugs while pregnant.

Security. Poverty is determined by economic success of a country, and although its obviously an issue, its one that will be improved as the national GDP and per capita increases (even if the rich are getting richer, it means more money given to charity). The high level of crime is also a problem, but police forces are cracking down and making progress, and although it is still an issue, security is a far more pressing one. We face a constant threat of attacks. We never know when, who, or where someone will strike. We have many enemies who would love to see America and all of its citizens destroyed. This is at present, our largest and by far most pressing danger.

The high number of people that live in poverty.
Fixing this would help fix the high level of crime. Educating the poor would also empower them to vote out politicians who don't represent them and provide a false sense of security.

Poverty definitely. Crime isnt that bad in the US, and as far as the false sense of security, they are doing a pretty good job of keeping terrorists out of our country since 9/11, so as long as that continues I dont think its your decision to say we have a false sense of security unless you are working for the government and know everything about everything going on right now. Which, im pretty sure, you dont.
