well, if they blocked it too low, we would just put mod chips in to unblock it...waste of time...

1. Speed doesn't kill directly.
Government statistics (which they like to keep hidden) show that about 3% of the accidents on our roads would have been prevented if the vehicles involved had been within the speed limits.
2. Not all countries have speed limits on all roads. All cars in the UK are designed for the European market, and meet European legislation. Germany and the Isle of Man both have roads without limits.
3. Many people use their cars on race circuits.
4. There are certain situations where it would be dangerous to not have some speed in reserve, so that you can accelerate out of a dangerous situation in order to avoid an accident.
Some countries do insist on speed limiters - in Japan the maximum speed cars are allowed to achieve is 180km/h (112mph), although many people modify their cars to remove the limiter. The new Nissan GT-R for the Japanese market has a limiter that is linked to the Sat-Nav, and is automatically removed when the Sat-Nav recognises that the car is on a race circuit, but this is expensive technology - it would add too much to the cost of normal cars.

Rubbish instructor and a rubbish examiner , weren't you lucky to pass The highway code is online or available from bookshops and might be idea to read it The answer after the for mentioned question is the white sign with a black strip is the begining of the national speed limit of 60 on single carriage roads and 70 on dual carrige ways but you don't have to do these speeds as some country lanes are 60 mph and 30 is too fast so you have to read the road abit

I've been saying this for years. I'm sure most people don't know, but the majority of commercial vehicles have governors on them that top out usually between 65 and 70 mph. I see no reason that cars shouldn't be done the same way. Speed doesn't kill, my ***. And what is the deal with people driving 80 and 90mph on the interstate, when gas is as expensive as it is? Slow the heck down, and save gas. There's no need to go that freakin' fast. You're gonna get there, sit back and enjoy the ride. Are those extra 20 seconds you'll gain driving across town really worth it?

Firstly your premise is totally incorrect.
The safest roads in Britain are the motorways, which also have the highest average speed.
75% of ALL road accidents occur at less than 30mph.
Speed does not kill - bad driving kills, at any speed.
Why build cars that can exceed the National Speed limit? It's called 'freedom of choice'. You obviously don't agree with that concept...

as for uk its proven that most accidents are NOT speed related,i have a bike which will do over 200mph with nos,i don't use the roads as a race track and do ride with-in legal limits and save speed for drag racing on old runways during summertime,i would not be able to do that with restrictions its bad enough not being able to smoke

Slow drivers and slow moving loads kill more people then excessive speed.
But the biggest single cause of auto related deaths is drinking and driving.
Why have a road designed for 120 mph if we can't go that fast?
Why not just ban roads altogether if you are so worried?

speed does not kill, the Germans do not have a speed limit on their auto-buans -(Motorways) and they have less crashes than us! dangerous driving kills, doing 70 down the motory way is fine (169 in Germany) yet 60 down your street might!

Men like speed, they buy motorcycle with higher speed even if they can not use it legally.
Some Motor speedometer are fake, they just add numbers to 250-300 just to engage the buyer to buy the fastest motors.

It's not so much how fast the car can go but the bigger the engine the more the brake horse power that makes the car safer to stop.
