-3 because of the fact 3 squared is 9 and you may sq. 2 and the sq. root of three so 2 squared is 4 and sq. root 3 squared is 3 so which you may multiply thrice 2 and you get 12 . 9-12=-3

(4 - sqrt(7))(3 + 2sqrt(7))
= 4 * 3 + 4*2sqrt(7) -3*sqrt(7) -2*7
(since sqrt(7) * sqrt(7) = 7)
= 12 + 8sqrt(7) - 3sqrt(7) - 14
= -2 +5sqrt(7) as required.
