Always answers the question 'how often'. Forever answers the question 'how long'. If they are applied factually, both require an unlimited amount in the area of reference but not necessarily outside it.

In other words, you have to pay attention to what you're referring to. If you say something 'has been' there forever, it doesn't mean that it WILL be there forever. The area referred to is the past from the moment the question was asked.

Likewise, saying "Bob always takes his shower in the mornings" does not mean that every morning he takes a shower... just that when a shower occurs, it happens then without exception. It could refer to one or even no occurrances.

Always is something I can see myself doing on a daily basis, example: I always brush my teeth in the morning and at night, or I always check the weather before I leave for school. Forever doesn't have a lot of meaning to me because it cannot be measured in time. Even though I say things like, "my soul will live forever." or " Oh baby I will love you forever." I really have no idea how long that will be.

I understand "always" to *usually* mean a condition has existed, exists, and will exist in perpetuity.

I understand "forever" to *usually* mean a condition that will exist in perpetuity but may not have existed at one point.

Very slippery words, and they may mean different things to different people. Similarly with words like "eternal" or "timeless". Make sure you clearly define the words you use, especially with philosophers, solipsists, and people discussing metaphysics. =)

In my opinion "forever" never changes. God's Love is Forever, Eternal. I have the idea that "always" may change: People say (in fact they swear): "I will always love you" - and it always is not eternal!
I will Be with Jesus and He will be with me forever! It will never change.

"Always" has a time limit, such as "till death do you part". "Forever" is timeless.
