u could check a few things like op system, and why u only have high memory available, try altering the stacks size in windows , dependant on version,or get an upgrade not a great deal will even load never mind run in that small area, type mem in a dos box to see whats going on.

It's time for a new PC. The 486 is way past it's usable lifespan. Sorry! The bright side is new PCs are more affordable than ever.
