I have a condition in my ear that has caused me to have a few weeks off of work - they are very understanding and say they don't mind, but this week my mum and dad split up and my mum is all on her own, no money and has lots to sort out.

I went to work today an explained the situation and said that I wouldn't be able to go in for today and tommorrow, they said it was fine, but I feel really guilty for letting them down again, do you think I should be feeling guilty?

Yes, you have been off work for several week,s you must have known something was up with your parents, I don't know whether you are getting paid whilst off work, however, what can you do during the day, that you can not do in the evening, get your butt back to work, & sort out the domestic issue after hours in your own time!!

and have a meery christmas

Don't feel quilty. You have the rest of your life to work.
Sounds like your mom could use the help now and that you have a cool boss.

if you are taking off for a truly important reason.or if you are not well---you won't do a good job-----thats what an understanding boss is for.By asking,I feel that you might feel guilty, and then you have to ask yourself if you really need to take off.
