1. I don't enjoy paying high taxes but someone has to pay the bill for the uncontrolled spending(10 trillions debt) and this war, you can thank bush for that.
2. You mean how exactly the govt. is telling me to spend my money after taxes? Buying a 6-pack or not ? Maybe christmas gifts for the family ?
3. So abolish the govt. system, no cops, no firefighters, no school, no security in airports, back to the middle ages I guess ?
4. Thats just pure bull sh.t. Anyone would like to protect themselves from being victims of crimes.
5. Again Pure B.S.
6. Again Pure B.S. Cars are necessities, the question is what source of energy is the best/efficient to fuel the cars without the extensive damage that is caused by petroleum ? If you called that hating cars then I can't help you.
7. It's better than what the conservatives are offering.

Your questions are all wrong. I am a liberal. I don't enjoy paying taxes. The governor of MA said that taxes is the price you pay for civilization, essentially. Since everyone is different, we need the government to provide direction on what makes sense. But the government is supposed to be for the people and by the people. I believe in that philosophy. If the government is doing something wrong then WE need to do something about it. I have more faith in our government than I do in business. I want to solve the problems and reduce crime. I don't want to sweep them under the rug as is currently happening. I don't hate the rich and successful but most of them are too selfish. They don't see the connection between this country and their success. They owe a debt to society. Nothing is free. The haves must help the have nots. We need a connection between each other. It helps to keep the peace and preserve our freedom. I prefer walking to driving. It's healthier in so many ways. Liberals don't have all of the answers but we care more about people than we do about materialistic possessions. Most of the liberals I know are incredibly smart, intelligent, hard-working, and successful. They understand reality. The conservatives I know seem to be disconnected from reality or have warped perceptions that are not based on the facts, they are based on assumptions that they have made. In other words, they have no idea what they are talking about.

Taxes are spent making the US a better place. Providing for the military, fire, police, rescue services to make us safer.
Paying for education, libraries, museums, science to give us the tools to keep us safe in the future.
Helping the poor because it is the right thing to do and because they are a valuable resource that should not be wasted.
That is the difference between liberals and conservatives. Liberals don't mind paying to defend the homeland, conservatives do. It is called patriotism.
The other thing that you should consider is that Conservatives don't want lower taxes, they just want their taxes lowered. People who actually produce stuff and contribute to the well-being of the country have seen their taxes go up with Republican control of the country. Only Republicans have seen their taxes go down.

How did you type that? Did it take you more than one try? It looks like you were foaming at the mouth trying to get it out.
As a Lib, I don't enjoy any of the things that you said. I also don't hate cars or hate rich people or hate protecting myself from criminals. I also don't think I know what's best for us but, I do have an opinion. Everyone has an opinion. Isn't it a good thing not to silence people's opinions?

Why do conservatives want to run this nation into a national debt that CAN NOT be paid off because the interest accruing will be more than we can pay?
Tax cuts have reprocussions, after all the money to run a government and an unjust war in Iraq has to come from somewhere.

Boy, those are some very vague stereotypes you have going there.
I am a liberal Democrat, and I don't agree with any of those statements. I do not force my ideas on anyone else.
The Nation as it is today was brought there by BOTH liberals and conservatives. Don't forget - we've been lead for the past 6 1/2 years by a CONSERVATIVE president and congress.

Because some of us like to make sure the government's bills, created by Republicans are paid, so our children don't have to foot the bill.
As far as "liking" to pay taxes, not sure anyone is out there cheering in the streets when taxes go up.
electing a Republican for President, is like giving your teenager a limitless credit card that you have to pay the bills.
