There is a general duplicate, a pattern, from which we all work. If you think of it like a tree of knowledge, then each of us grows branches in different places and maybe some of us are apple trees and some are maples.
If this voyage of discovery that you mention is the one where you discover who you are, what you are are, what the universe is, and where your place is in that universe, it's called cosmology.
We all live on earth, so we each have an earthly cosmology, but more to the point, we each have a human cosmology. Move a billion of us to other planets and the pattern will remain the same; but now new species of trees will be discovered.
