(But Jade provided one more example, Mayor Ray Nagin using race to appeal to New Orleans during his election, calling Nawlins a "chocolate" city.

Walru: I passed over all answers that didn't give a specific examples. Theories are to contrived and are often false accusations. However, I did notice that liberals use these false accusations more often than conservatives, which further makes my point.
By the way, I'm and American from a long line of American uniformed service members. I'm in my country. (Why would my ethnicity matter to a liberal, do you think?)

Justin: I'm not embarrassed to challenge statements that I perceive as false. Do you have something against evidence or accountability?
I think I've also shown now that liberals suffer from self-imposed ignorance.

tx, my friend, I've been all over the world, and I have NEVER seen overt racism anywhwere. From my experience, the only people who are actual racists are people who think they can get something for it or those who have been raised to hate others. Both are extremely rare.
These days, democrats are not racists, but they use race issues to get elected and to get benefits. It's nothing but an ugly emotional blackmail designed to make white Christians feel guilty and give up the goods and be subdued.
This little grey duck doesn't respond to blackmail or race baiting.

Mahal,
I definitely believe that democrats use race to bait voters, but I don't think that either major political party endorses racism, just a few select members from each party. The democrats have tried to convince voters that republicans are racists to pick up the black and latino votes. This has worked in the past, as can be seen by the fact that exit polls from 2000 and 2004 showed blacks favoring democrats 65% and hispanics favoring democrats by 70%. However, what those polls did not show was that the numbers were in decline, and continue to be to this day. A Harris poll taken in August shows that blacks have just about evened out at 52% in favor of democratic candidates, and hispanics have dropped to 63% support for democrats. Given the total number of black and hispanic registered voters, this does not give the democrats any clear advantage in the whole scheme of things. This is made more evident by seeing how the democrats have been walking a very thin line trying to pander to all voters. After Hillary Clinton's support for illegal (criminal) alien driver's licenses, her numbers took a very notable decline, which paved the way for Barrack Obama to take the lead in Iowa and New Hampshire. The problem for the democrats right now is that they do not have much support from the center, which is where the 2008 election will be decided. Democrats failed to notice that over 80% of the country is fed up with criminal immigration, probably because they are too busy pandering to the extreme left, which has lost power do to there unverifiable conspiracy theories. I think it is dispicable that the democrats have used race pandering to earn votes, but fortunately the black and hispanic community have been getting wise to there tactics.

Um.............NO! But you do respond to answers,I should have supplied you with a real one..
Racist Republican # 1
George Bush.. No child left behind is disproportionately effecting Black and Latino Americans (google it)
Racist Republican #2
John Bolton although now not quite as hot a topic his reord clearly shows a bias against people of color..
the list goes on and on...
but I will challenge you at a base level... Right politics in the United states are and have always been (in modern history, last 50 years) slanted against the poor.. it favors the rich in a "Trickle down" approach to economics, which does not work as evidenced by the ever widening gap between very rich and Middle class poor... further. The word racism belies the Bigotry of greed, I would submit that the issue of color , skin color is a pale second to the color of money..
Jail populations are full of Poor black people men and women both disproportionate to their numbers in society... I wish I had given this question a little close look because I think you need to be challenged on your position.

Overall, there are racists amongst all walks of life. However, in general terms, there is no question that historically the democrat party has done nothing more than use minorities for their votes. While some of that may have been due to racism, most of it was merely due to opportunism.

The practice of citing your own unproven questions as a basis of fact does not prove anything. It is however evidence, that you are looking for something that you yourself cannot find. In the future, try to remember that such juvenile tactics will only fool other conservatives who like you, do not posess the power to see through bullsh!t.

i say you! you are a republican, you are race baiting! so yeah i guess you would be a great example. and this question was just asked so is that contemporary enough for you? when the republican party challenged votes in florida in 2000 they illegally focused on minority voters and lied about the reasons the votes should be thrown out. the company the compiled the evidence that the votes should be thrown out due to the voter being a convicted felon lied and was republican backed and owned.
