I'll admit I've been tempted (you know when people wait to tell you they've liked you for years after seeing you with your bf), but I knew what I had at home. If I really wanted someone else, there'd have to be trouble in the current relationship, at which point I'd break it off anyway.

Well, to be honest, nothing would make me cheat. I would wait until I was out of a relationship before I would do anything. That's just me.
There are better, more productive ways to solve problems other than the easy way out of cheating. If a pretty face and money is one reason people think about cheating, they need to take a step back and look at themselves and what is going on. That is no excuse to cheat. If someone isn't there for you, then you talk to that person and tell them how you feel and what you need. You work on your current relationship before you decide to move on.
Again, that's just me. I don't claim to be all high and mighty. I base my beliefs on the upbringing and the huge positive impact my parents had on my life.

If it was to help a friend out. I mean if I had a female friend who has been without for along time and isn't looking to take over, but needs a release and would like to do it with me, maybe. Or if doing it helped save a hungry child or got Michael Vick to stop killing dogs, I might.
I would not cheat with my heart though. I love my wife and would never want to be with anyone else. But, as I age, sex is becomming more of "the ultimate handshake" than something that has to mean the end of a relationship, if that makes sense. I mean, what a better way to express your fondness for another person than by having sex. When I am with my wife and we are engaged in the "act" it is really more about how I feel for her inside. We make love. If I was to be with another woman for the above named reasons it would be sex and a physical expression of friendship.
Lame I know, but as you get older and have been with someone you love for a long time you tend to see things differently.
Just a note: I have never cheated on my wife, and have no plans to, although I have been propositioned several times, I found I could not do it.

Nothing. I don't think there should be anything to make someone want to cheat. If a person cheats then they might as well break up the relationship. What does one get out of cheating other than drama and confusion? Nothing.

Nothing would make me cheat. Once you've been "cheated on", you have a better understanding. Plus, I love my husband too much to EVER hurt him in any way !!! He's my best friend!!

Did your husband cheat on you and now you are trying to figure out why? Good luck with that. Really, you will make yourself crazy and probably never find the answer.

If it ever got so bad that I was considering cheating, I would go to counseling with my husband first. If that failed and every other possible aid out there failed, I would get divorced. There is no way I would cheat on my husband. Not ever!

Nothing could make me cheat. Outside of not wanting to hurt my wife, there is a part of me that wants to remain innocent in those regards. I would never want to have to face myself "the morning after"... for me, it would be one of the worst feelings ever.

I would cheat if we are sleeping in separate beds because we just cannot stand each other anymore.
