say you are running a gas station and you have a bed in it and sleep in it at night is this illegal? i know a guy doing just this he is liveing in his gas station can this be legal?

Living in a gas station may be illegal... but not because there is a law against it.

Is the gas station up to code for residential occupancy? There are specific requirements that may make it a code violation for him to live there... in other words it could be illegal on a technicality.

I sure hope it's legal. I did it for about a month or more when I was between apartments. I also took my showers at the YMCA. I loved that water pressure.

why would it be illegal? in fact many business owners have an apartment in the same building as their business.. it's a lot better than driving to work..

Illegal? No.

It might be in violation of his lease if he doesn't own the building, but there's no law against it.

Perfectly legal. It is your own property. Many small business owners do or have done this.
