I was called for jury duty, and I actually was excited. I told my students about fulfilling my civil duties and all that jazz, and then, when it was time to call us, they told us that the case had been settled.

I was looking forward to sharing that experience with my students. I really hope I get another chance.

when you used to have to be there every day for 2 weeks.... I never made it on a jury but the time went by so slowly...... now in my area it is one day or one trial so if you make it through the day without getting on a trial you are done till the next time you are called....which seems to be more often since they went to that system....

I got on one where this guy was up for 6 counts of selling drugs and other things. He had a crappy lawyer and I really felt bad for him. I wish that I had enough money to get him better counsel because he got a raw deal.

We deliberated forever on a rape case. It was circumstantial evidence so some got hung about that.

I haven't actually had to serve yet -- but I'm finding being called pretty obnoxious.
