I am a big fan of Harry Potter, at any age there a good series of books. Otherwise I like Nicholas Sparks books.

"Discovery of Heaven" by Mulisch is quite good. But maybe a bit too heavy for older teens. They dig the subject though.

"The Notebook" and "The Wedding" by Nicholas Sparks and "The Last Summer of You and Me" by Anne Brashares, if you like tear jerker romances. If you like myster/thrillers than a great book to read is "First to Die" by James Patterson.
