I have solved this equation in my Graphing calculator, which gives an answer of 1.28 rads or 73.1°. Can anyone solve it algebraically?

3x - 4Sin x = 0

This problem can be solved by Numerical Analysis. This is kind of a hit and trial method. You start with an arbitrary (sensible) value of x and find the corresponding value of the given function. Keep adjusting the value of x to bring it as close to 0 as possible. When the required level of accuracy is achieved you stop there and that's the answer to the problem.

Well, I can't tell you whole of the Numerical Analysis here. You've to consult internet or text books.

It is not solvable algebraically .If x and trigonometric functions are involved you must work in radians
x=1.27569810928 with a scientific calculator
