How do i do an introduction statment?

I am doing this UN project in CWP(12) and i have no idea what a intro. statment would consist of.

please help.

Usually the introduction to any piece of writing draws the reader into the subject by catching his attention (maybe with a startling fact) or providing a little background information. The longer the whole essay or whatever, the longer the introduction can be, but it should usually be just one paragraph, ending with the thesis statement.
