Is there a precedent for presenting a present without being present?

No, but your presence to present a present to the president would not be very much appreciated though... So, don't think about presenting any presents to him either present or not... Present it to someone else who would really love your presence and the presentation of your present!

I know of no precedents for presenting presents to the President whether or not the presenter is present, but I think the Secret Service would have to be present to process the present before presenting it to the President regardless of the presence of the presenter of the present.

By the way, this reminds me of an amusing birthday card I saw once. It said something like this:
"The party of the first part would like to wish the party of the second part (hereinafter called the birthday party) a happy birthday...whether or not the birthday party is party to any party or any part thereof."

There is a precedent for non-present people presenting presents to the president. Their presentation is presented in the presence chamber.

Presidential present non-presence precedent: I just went to Bronner's, the world's largest Christmas Store in Frankenmuth, MI where I saw a letter from Dubya & Laura Bush thanking them for the ornaments the store sent, which were placed on the White House Christmas tree.

Presently there is, but as long as you present yourself as presentable when you do the presentation, you should be fine if ever the opportunity presents itself.

I presented a present to my rotund friend once. It was a large priceless antique clay pitcher. Not long after, I was at his house and noticed the pitcher was now badly stained. When I mentioned the stain to my friend he was shocked and had no idea who did it or how it happenned. In case whoever did this came back again, I left them a note so maybe they would understand just what they had done:
