"Tom Tancredo is a Big War Advocate But Was a Vietnam War Draft Dodger Due to Claims of Depression"

--He's a flame throwing supporter of the Iraq War and demagogic opponent of "illegal" immigration (as in Mexican immigration, not white people immigration). As a college student, he also was a rabid enthusiast for our war in Vietnam.
But Tom Tancredo, the congressman who invites guests over to his Colorado mansion to watch John Wayne movies, was given a 1-Y deferment from serving in Vietnam. Why? Because he claims that he was treated for mental illness while in high school.

It should matter these days, but it doesn't. Look at Bill Clinton's avoidance of Vietnam, and Bush's little stint. In the long run, it doesn't appear people care so much about military service. This time around a lot of people want to put the Military in the hands of Hillary. I would take Tancredo over her, ANY DAY!

A deferment is not draft dodging. Draft dodging is leaving the country, as in going to Canada to avoid being drafted, or as many did during the Vietnam conflict, simply refusing to serve and taking the consequences. Draftees that had a history of being treated for something like depression were often passed over by the draft board.

Even in peacetime. while they interview a soldier and that they are asserting they did no longer think of they may be sent to conflict while they signed up - somewhat, what do you think of the militia is for? no count who the administration is there is often the prospect of wrestle and hazardous circumstances. i comprehend people who have been drafted and compelled to combat in Vietnam or maybe some previous timers from WWII. no longer even given a option to enroll.
