i am currently working at a Coborns Pharmacy (owned by cash wise) and i am planning to get a Tech job somewhere in Moorhead MN when i graduate from high school and move up there for college. i want to work at whichever one pays best.

RE: How much does Walgreens pay pharmacy techs to start? All answers will help but I have 2 years experience and am certified and licensed and in east Tn. Also, what is the pay frequency there (weekly, biweekly, monthly)?

are you certified? Walgreens pays more based on certification. In Connecticut starting without certification is $9.75. But that is for anyone entering the job position. If you are already a tech they would probably raise your pay with however many years experience you have. They will also pay for you to get certified - study materials, classes, the test itself and renewal. I forget exactly how much of a raise certified techs get but it's over a dollar. Periodically you get raises also. I've been there four years and make $14.

In the Chicago market, uncertified techs start at $9 per hour and certified techs start at $10 per hour.
