What kinds of things elicit an emotional response?

What general categories of things tend to make people emotional? I'm thinking of romance, children, pets, etc... What other kinds of things tend to make people feel emotional? Thanks!

I think everything we go through in life makes people "emotional". Life, death, failure, success...etc, the list can go on and on for days...

a fearful/traumatic situation, a loving situation, and an exciting situation.

now what falls into those situations will change from person to person.
