If you're talking about current shows, sadly, there aren't as many as there used to be. Two And A Half Men, Back To You, Rules of Engagement, are a few and there are only a few more still going (or would be if not for the writers' strike) if I'm not mistaken. I say "sadly" because this is a part of American culture that is worth preserving. Studios "sadly" have become trend followers rather than trend setters and the trend is currently not leaning toward audience show sitcoms and even not so much toward scripted comedy. They say it's all about the ratings and to a certain degree that's true. But treating the symptom instead of the cause will not save the networks. Better writing will. Put on funny shows with appealing performances and the audiences at home and the studio audiences will return.

In the old days they, well not so old for me they would always say "filmed in front of a live studio audience" in the intro. Today some are and some aren't some stil use the old fashioned laugh tracks some don't. Think about it for a second so you laugh out loud more by yourself or when you hear others laughing. It is only natural to laugh harder in the prescence of other laughter. To the concious mind you think I laughed at that show, I will watch it again. Something usually has to be pretty damn funny for you lol all by yourself.
