They can garnish and they can repossess your car.

As a previous poster mentioned, they can reposess the vehicle. How far behind are you? Late payments and repos can severely damage your credit and cost you money for years to come! If you bought your car at a dealer, call around and see if they can help get you out of that one and into one with a more reasonable payment..or maybe think about asking family and friends to loan you some money (that you WILL pay back) once you're able to get yourself out of this little hole. Also, check out prosper.com for obtaining a personal loan.

Credit is EXTREMELY important these days. It will effect everything from insurance rates to employment and, if you're not careful, it will wind up costing you a fortune in higher interest rates when it comes time to buy a car or home, etc.. I urge you to start making calls and doing research so that you can get out of this without completely destroying your credit score. See if you can re-structure your payments somehow.

Sure can, but they will accept your arrears payments rather than proceed but you must talk to them. If you don't make a satisfactory arrangement; First your vehicle will be repossessed, (don't even think of trying to hide it as the bailliffs are extremely good at this) and if you don't redeem it and pay the arrears, then it will go to auction & be sold. You are still responsible for the shortfall and can still be garnisheed. If you have a guarantor on this note you can be sure they will be contacted prior to the procedure going into action if they haven't already been and be subject to garnishee as well.

No. Wages are exempt from garnishment for anything except tax issues and child support in PA.
