I just got a new pc. My old card was agp 8x and my new pc only has a pci-e slot. I'm going to get a new pci-e graphics card but right now, will my agp 8x card fit/work in it?

Not unless you find a hard-to-come-by adapter board, and that may cause a whole slew of other problems. Just buy a PCI-E card.
