Brazil, only because there's so much talk about it & there's so many mixtures there, i wonder how they came to be so unique!

I am intrigued by the people of Holland or The Netherlands. They have persevered for centuries through wars and weather and water. They grow the best bulbs in the world and as a child in the early grades, I always wished I was Dutch so I could wear their costume, especially the hat and wooden shoes. I went into nursing and got to wear a similar hat LOL!

North Korea. It's just weird. They have loud speakers telling them what to do and stuff. I saw a really special MSNBC report with Dan Rather who got permission from the goverment to go there. Everything was all staged and obviously fake. It was just totally intriguing. When Dan Rather asked about stuff, everybody would say "The controller doesn't allow that or the controller says it's 8 o'clock..."

I love Celtic History (has nothing to do with my lineage) reading about ancient times and people such as Boudicca and Chiomara. Movies such as Braveheart (yes I know it is historically inaccurate) and Warrior Queen. I also love British and Greek/Roman History and read a lot of biographys of peoples from those times.
My son is an idiot savant about history and things historical (he is a walking encyclopedia of ancient world history) and so he got me hooked.

Europe period. It is so small compared to the states. I went to Germany for a month but spent a year reading about what and where I wanted to see before I went. My daughter was living there in a small town and it was wonderful. The visit has helped me understand my hubbys foster mother who is German. She beleives in being a good citizen and cannot understand people who do not follow all the rules..like me for instance.

Russia. Both now & then as it's been such a 'closed' country for so long & it's my ancestry. Australia is the place that intrigues me the most. So similar, yet so different. I hope to visit both one day & for an extended period of time and explore around definitely more than just once:-)

French Polynesia Islands. Things haven't changed much their except for some airports and marinas. No pollution , no industry except tourists. The locals on the outer islands would rather trade goods for tennis shoes. Closest "Nike" shoe factory is about 2,000 miles west. The water is extremely clean as there are more sailboats than power boats.

I think Europe as a whole, interest me. The poets musicians of yesteryear, The crusades, Kings and Queens it is just unbelievable to me being of the States to have history so far back. If I picked a country I would love to go to Ireland being of Irish heritage.
EDIT: So very glad you are back Wally, you were very much missed!

Slovenia, the birthplace of my maternal grandparents. My granddaughter went there earlier this year when she was attending The University of London. My sister and I would love to take a trip there. Egypt is a place I have wanted to visit since I was old enough to know anything about it.
