I have a couple of gallons of antifreeze in my trunk and cannot remember which ones I have diluted to 50/50. Is there any way to find out which ones are 100% and which ones are 50%?

There are dozens of places to buy pocket testers from. Instructions come with them and cost is less than $5.00

With the tester just sample each and it will tell you what protection they offer.

With the engine cold, open the hood and remove the radiator cap, or the reserve coolant tank cap. Squeeze the bulb and release it with the dip tube in the coolant.
Fluid will be sucked up which will activate the mechanism.
Read the results and buy antifreeze that says it's pure not watered down.

Under the car on the radiator, there is a drain plug, with a small pan open it and catch the amount of coolant you think you will need to replace.
Secure the plug so it's tight and now make sure the fluid has dropped.
Now slowly add the new coolant to the line on the reserve tank, or into the radiator to the top.

Run the engine for 1/2 an hours to make sure there are no leaks. In the morning when it's cool, check to see if any coolant it needed to top it off. Use antifreeze to top off needed coolant. If you did it right, you just saved about 40 bucks.

At the auto parts store, they have a tool that has a bubble on top that you squeeze, place in the radiator, and then let go to draw up some liquid. It is cheap, they may even check this for you freely. There are floats that let you know how far below freezing your mix is. If it is 50/50, it should read around -40 degrees.

the pure stuff is much more slimy. a tester would work-- or-- mix a small sample of what you have 50/50 with water, and put that in the freezer. If it freezes, what you have is already diluted.

if ure planning on refilling then u gotta empty all there is in the vehicle first........not good to mix coolant........its pretty simple to do it youre self dont worry, just pour a gallon on ure reservoir or radiator and use that same gallon filled with water till u top of either one and turn ure vehicle on and as a rule well leave the cap off until water feels warm it won't be hot so air gets purge and right after liquid starts overspilling and ure at normal temp. put the cap on and boom ure done..

There's a tester for this that looks like an eyedropper with a few plastic balls in it. Depending what your mixture is, more of the balls float. Very easy to use. Your local auto parts store can sell you one for a few bucks, and they should be able to show you how to use it.

If it's thicker and greener then it's 100%, if it's light green and somewhat thin it's 50/50.
