I read a lot and have noticed that almost every book has a main character that has green eyes and another has smoky grey eyes. However, I rarely see anyone in real life with green or smoky grey eyes. Is it that I'm unobservant or are there really that many people with that color eyes? What color are your eyes? Mine are dark blue.

Interesting answers! Thanks. I'm an every day reader also. Mostly mysteries, travel (like Paul Theroux) and no romance.

I love to read very much. I think perhaps the colors you spoke of are more from a fiction book as a previous person also said.. A creative writer trying to be clever. But I suppose anything is possible. With certain types of contacts these days I imagine the color of eyes can be changed temporarily somewhat.

I have hazel eyes. I had a beautiful Malamute Husky dog (Wolfie) that had gorgeous green eyes- her mother had one blue, and one green.

Sounds like you are depressed. Did anything significant happen in your life as of late? Don't blame yourself for not wanting to read your friend's poems; instead, realize that people go through different periods in their lives and maybe consider reading her poems in the near future or when you're in a different state of mind. Perhaps, there's something about her poems that triggers a certain feeling/mix of emotion within you and makes you feel uncomfortable or simply aversive to reading them. You are human, and naturally, will have various responses to all sorts of things, including forms of expression...even your best friend's poetry. I don't know what you were reading on Wikipedia because all I know is that it has been proven to be a faulty source of information, but no matter what, if you found some enjoyment in whatever you were reading, then that's great! There is some fantastic reading material available for free on the Internet of various subject matters. How old are you? What's your reading level? And what are your interests? If you email me, I'd be happy to try to direct you towards some reading material if you're interested. Television just might not be appealing to you. I personally don't watch much T.V., but I do watch some shows. We are all different--one thing isn't better than the other, but reading is definitely important for the mind and for furthering one's vocabulary and knowledge base. Simply, you might just be uninterested at this time in your life and may need a break. Only you will know that for yourself. Think about this. If you suspect that depression is creeping up on you, then seeking the care of a counselor/psychologist might be very helpful. Best of luck to you!

Brown eyes. Boy we have had a lot of reading questions today. I LOVE to read, but for the past year I mostly only get to read school related materials. I am the type of person who once I open a book life is on hold until I finish it. No interruptions at all no-chores, shopping, phone, nothing. So I have to make sure I have adequate time before I start a book!
Wally-No wonder you are such a fount of information. I have a son who reads as voraciously as you.

I read tons - in spurts...go through periods where I read 8-10 books non stop practically - then I go months without doing so.

And yes, I know people with smoky grey eyes; with green eyes and my grandaughter's eyes are actually yellow gold. My grandad's family had really odd coloring palettes...brown skin with blue/gray eyes or light gray...interesting!

My eyes are very dark brown..almost black

Green eyes here......I don't think there's that many. I had heard green eyes were "bedroom eyes" but who knows. LOL....depends on the book you're reading I guess. I doubt you'd notice mine unless I was crying. They turn almost lime green when I do. My youngest has green eyes. Mom had baby-blues and so did my sister. Dad had grey.....so I'm not sure where I got them from.

My eyes are blue. But I used to go to High School with a girl that had green eyes. Not many people have green eyes.
There was one actress, I can see her in my mind, but sorry I can't remember her name, but she had the most beautiful green eyes.

I read about 400 books per year in any given year. Sometimes more, but never less. My eyes are listed on my driver's license as hazel blue. That is what my Mom always said and that is what I use today. Dark blue is perfect too!!!!!

Mine are green, the color of olives. Both my sisters' too, from a mother with brown and a father with blue! Yes I read, but seldom fiction, unless it's Barbara Kingsolver.
