Depends on what drugs and what cult.
Was the drug use a result of the cult?
Was the cult membership a result of the drug use?
Were the drugs used while in the cult?
Were children involved?
Did the cult discriminate on the basis of age, sex, or race?
Was the drug use social?
And most importantly... Did any cult activity involve black robes, cocaine or George W Bush?

Honestly I think almost everyone has tried drugs at one point or another in their life. So no, that issue doesn't matter to me.
This is also the same reason why it didn't matter that Bill Clinton used MJ and honestly its the same reason why nobody cared that George Bush used whatever drugs it was he used.
Everyone tries something atleast one time in their life. So its pretty much a non-issue.
Now, as far as the cult thing goes. Any religious group can be labelled a "cult" however lets assume that you are refering to a devil worshiping cult or something like it.
No, I really don't care that they belonged to a "cult" so long as the goals of the cult had nothing to do with world destruction or killing massive amount of people.

Illegal drugs? A lot of people tried drugs way back when they were young and foolish.
As for a cult, that requires a little more information, as some people get truly mind-f^&%ked by cults, and aren't right in the head even after getting de-programmed.

If Skulls and Bones is a cult, than that answers your question because George Bush was a member of Skull and Bones.

If the candidate isn't using drugs anymore..it wouldn't make me feel differently. A cult is another thing though.

Everyone has a past and no one is perfect. What really should matter is their stance on issues that affect this country right now not what they did 20 or 30 years ago.

No I wouldnt be suprised or shocked, but what I would be shocked about is that a Past president and a present candidate endorse past black panther and convicted murderers for positions in there administration.

i dont think my opinion would change if he or she had used drugs in the past b/c as long as they are not doing them now that kinda means they have learned their lesson but as to the cult thing it means they are easily influenced and that is really not a quality you want in a canidate

If this happened in the teen year and anytime in the 20's, or even 30 years old I would maybe overlook it, and move on.
