Yes... the responsiblity to pay child support and be responsible for medical, dental and vision expenses does not terminate until the child is ADOPTED. Simply terminating parental rights does not stop child support.

How did you "exhaust" your rights? There is also a difference between "rights" and "responsibilities". You will pay support until the court releases you from this responsibility.

The only way a deadbeat can get out of supporting his/her own child is when the child is 18 - (or older if he/she attends college full time) or - if the parent files with the court to legally terminate his/her parental rights.

WOW. I did not know that the rights could be exhausted. I guess I did not use mine enough, they made it all the way till the kids turned 18.

What do you mean exactly by exhausted?
